March-April-May 2009 Highlights

Annual Shareholders' Meeting was held on Tuesday, May 5th. The election results were as follows in order of the most votes received: Peter Grebski - 74,356 (Pres), Irene Barsotti - 64,875 (Treasurer), Hugh Flanagan - 62,152 (2nd Vice Pres) and Michael Accardi - 31,577. In case any board member steps down from the board while serving, the next runner up that was voted upon would then fill that board position until the next annual election. The other officers are Joel Katz as Vice Pres., Patti LeBar as Secretary and Karen Loccisano as Assistant Treasurer.

Maintenance .In March a gas leak was discovered from the street across from the maintenance office to the main garage. The gas lines had to be turned off in Buildings #10-20 for over two weeks. Con Edison along with the Town of Greenburgh repaired the lines in the street and our House Plumber repaired and/or replaced the pipes in the main garage as well as by the meters. Upon completion, the work was inspected and service was restored on March 24th.

We will be installing all new indoor lighting in hallways, main garage, laundry and boiler rooms, where needed, with cost efficient lights and Con Edison will be absorbing half of the cost to CCR.

Finance. The Committee held a meeting in April.

Parking. 4 cars were booted between February and March and 5 cars were booted between March and April. New parking stickers should now be posted on all CCR registered vehicles.

House Rules Review Committee. After 3 meetings, all rules were reviewed word by word and some additions and deletions were noted. A final presentation will be given to the Board in the near future for their review.

Grounds. The sandbox within the playground on the hill will be receiving its new cover as well as fresh sand in the near future.

A grounds walk was held on Saturday, April 25th from 10am to 12 noon. Several willing volunteers worked to transplant some perennials to other areas of the property as well as doing some pruning. Another such grounds work out will be planned in the near future. All are welcome to help out!

Vegetable Garden. Of the many plots within this area, a map has been drawn up and is on file at the Maintenance Office. Anyone interested in obtaining a plot, should contact Bob Voss to determine what plots are available for assignment. Reminder: Any parents who utilize a garden plot must supervise their children while in the area so other resident's planting areas are not harmed. Everyone should also be responsible for their own tools and respect other's property as well.

Community Event. A Spring Egg Hunt was held on Saturday, April 4th at 11am. Approximately 12 children attended along with their parents. Although the weather was a little chilly, the eggs were all found, including one by a squirrel, who took off with it before the hunt began!

Smoking. This is just a reminder for those who do smoke, do not to leave the louvered door to your apartment open and to make sure you have a proper smoke eater unit within your apt. This is common courtesy among neighbors. Second-hand smoke is a serious issue for all. And Smoking Is Not Allowed in any common areas, i.e. hallways, laundry, storage or bicycle rooms or garages.

Happy Spring/Summer to You All!
